Prepare for Puss in Boots
Here are the various versions of puss in boots that I made recently.
Here are the various versions of puss in boots that I made recently.
At a recent Animé & Manga I made a series of characters for the voice actors who were guests at the convention, the characters I made included Naruto, Yugioh and Ash Ketchum.
The photos that follow display the guest artist with the balloons I made for them.
These balloons were then auctioned off at the charity auction and raised lots of money for the charity.
All photos here were taken by Emma Lawlor
People often ask me what exactly is involved in making a piece out of balloons. Well that depends entirely on the piece, a friend of mine Nina Whitt, who is a make up artist recently approached me as she wanted me to collaborate with her on a shoot.
In the video linked above you can get an idea of exactly what is involved in the construction of the piece, please not that this is a time lapse video and may cause problems for people with epilepsy.
For the design of the skirt used in the above piece we met a few months prior to the shoot in order to both discuss what the intentions were and how we could achieve it best. We ran through the look, the theme and and the style, and I was furnished with a list of colours to use and measurements of the model and other required information.
Below you can see the end results of our combined efforts in the wonderful picture by Carl Farmer from Red Tree Studio. Wonderful makeup was done by the amazingly talanted Nina Whitt and Blue Byrd. The behind the scenes work and documentary shots by Sarah Murphy. And of course a huge thanks goes to the model, Melissa H’Model.

This was a piece I made for an exhibit of balloon art in Germany back in November 2008.
Oscar the Grouch
This parody of the famous ©Sesame Street character, was made as a result of a shirt that a friend of mine was wearing the other day … I always find it amazing where inspiration comes from!
Danny(The Script) with one of balloon Pluto and a balloon Dora I made, he wanted them for a sick child that had just gone into hospital
Princess Jasmine
This was made as a result of a conversation with a user on deviantArt regarding their avatar
Just wanted to say thank you to all those who like me photos and have started following me on Tumblr!
I will make a special thank you balloon for you all.
Vase of Roses
These were made as a gift for the staff at a hotel where I stayed recently …
enough to say they loved it!
Please note the entire thing is made out of balloons … also the roses glow in the dark!
Despicable Who?
Here is a parody of Gru and some of his minions that I made out of balloons…
The characters are based on those of the Despicable Me Movie.
Cloud - Final Fantasy VII
Here is a parody version of Cloud from Final Fantasy VII © Squaresoft
The face is based upon this image found on deviantArt.
This is yet another piece that I made for a cos-player person at Nom-Con 2010, this time it is Kenpachi from the anime show Bleach.
Belle - Beauty and the Beast
This is a parody I made of Belle from Disney’s Beauty and the beast.
As you read this my festival season is booking up nicely you will be able to find me at a large number of Events across Europe, and possibly a few in the States that I am just waiting for confirmation on.
The fastest approaching one will be the Street Performance World Championships. As those who are regulars will know, I am the only artist that has been invited back every year to perform and keep the crowds entertained.
This year is the first year that the SPWC will be heading to Port Laoise, where I will be heading with a team. But for those of you in Cork (which is run on the same weekend), never fear, I have a team of balloon modellers that will be entertaining the crowds down there this year.
For Dublin, well that means there will be a bumper crop of balloon artists to entertain the masses. As usual we are looking forward to a wonderful festival and we hope to see you all there. Don’t forget, between us we can make almost anything, so be sure to put your thinking caps on now.
Oh and remember this year, they are trying to break the “Where’s Wally” Guinness Book of Records World Record. So if you want to help us smash this record, why not swing by the website and pre-order your outfit!
